Hi! I’m Ayesha (she/her)
I offer a warm, compassionate and curious space to explore this one wild and precious life you’ve been given.
As a therapist, I believe my role is to help hold space to facilitate your innate ability to grow and heal. I believe that it’s inherent in all humans to want to feel loved, connected and safe—and I believe that we all have the capacity to experience this, even though at times it might feel out of reach or even impossible. I’m here to create a container of hope and possibility between us, to support your journey of healing.
Along with being a therapist I have also been a yoga and meditation teacher for nearly a decade, and have taken an additional 2 year program as a Contemplative Therapist which bridges together western psychology with eastern philosophy. My approach to therapy brings us home to our wholeness, which includes a relationship with our body.
I provide an inclusive and affirming space for all (e.g. gender diverse, queer, ENM, etc.) as well as a culturally sensitive and responsive space, drawing from my own experiences as the daughter of two immigrants from India.
I also acknowledge my practice is physically located in Ottawa, on the un-ceded Anishinabe Algonquin territory whose people have lived on this territory for millennia and whose culture and presence have nurtured and continue to nurture this land. I recognize the systemic oppression of lands, cultures and the original peoples in what we now call Canada, and practice psychotherapy from a decolonial framework to contribute to the healing and decolonizing journey we all share together.
It would be an honour to walk alongside you on your healing journey.
